Encrypted communications (Telnet over SSL)

VaxVax Member Posts: 13
I for one would really like to see some sort of optional encryption available such that everything (especially passwords) were not sent as plain text.  I realize that the html client now (somewhat) supports websockets over ssl, but I really like having my own client, and would love telnet over SSL.  With encryption (or at least secure tunnels like stunnel.org) fairly trivial to add to clients, is there any hope that we will ever get server support for secure telnet connections?

It's something that I'd very much like to do, but we currently don't have any specific plans to add server support for telnet encryption.

I'll volunteer to help.  ;-)  But really, it would be awesome and a nice feather in your hat in this age of Internet eavesdropping if you ever get around to it.
