I've been upset with that for ages... I kinda wish, or did, that doppies could not only use targeted emotes but also hear spoken things and see emotes. Having the ability to deliver messages with my doppie was fun, albeit a niche RP ability, but kind of a downer when it's all fairly masturbatory.
So, someone check my math, but 15% flat drop rate on phylactery specific items, 29 items(9 familiars, 20 pieces), assuming even drop rate throughout, it's a 3/580 chance, or .5% of getting a piece you want, right?
EDIT: WAIT WAIT GUYS WHOEVER BUYS PHYLACTERIES SEND ME HOW MANY ITEMS YOU GET AND HOW MANY PHYLACTERIES YOU BOUGHT/OPENED I CAN PRETEND IM STUDYING FOR STATS THIS WAY

Does that mean if I pass off DPS readouts and cost:efficiency ratios of spells on beta as studying, I can idle on the beta realm?

But in all seriousness, I think we're going to end up seeing like, only a few of these artifacts in the game. If they keep it for all phylacteries even after this promotion, then I think we'll see more, but the numbers and chances I'm getting currently says that unless a lot of people buy the 30 package(and even then), we're not likely to see anything.
Package of 30 means 4.5 phylactery items, but counting out familiars, puts you at 3.105 average pieces per 30 phylacteries. And out of 5 different things to be assembled, each needing 4 pieces each...
I spent weeks on end smithing, crunching numbers, getting standard deviations per item per ingots used. Those statements were, once upon a time, true. But as Lionas noted, all is normal. Some parts of me misses the old sort of smithing - the same part of me that enjoys train wrecks, UFC, and totally debauched pornography.
Orichalcum was to-hit, Bone was damage, Veritum was speed. You could bang out a hundred orichalcum sabres and end up with an average of something like 75/197/190.
"On the battlefield I am a god. I love war. The steel, the smell, the corpses. I wish there were more. On the first day I drove the Northmen back alone at the ford. Alone! On the second I carried the bridge! Me! Yesterday I climbed the Heroes! I love war! I… I wish it wasn’t over."
So, this war is bringing out the dumb. Can I get some clarification on what qualifies for a bounty reason? Do we need to be using bounties instead of 'mental notes' for pk reasons?
Example:
Ahkan goes into Antioch and kills a citizen.
-Bounty for 'raiding'
-Bounty for 'murder'
Ahkan goes into Antioch and kills a guard. (this is where **** is getting weird)
-Bounty for 'raiding'
-Bounty for 'attacking guards'
-Bounty individually for getting the killing blow on a guard.
This is one action. Why am I picking up 3 reasons for one act?
Could we have the 'system' add an official bounty with the 'death' of a guard? Trusting players to keep good records is sort of a tall order and is so easy to exploit.
I've also shied away from using bounty reasons lately. Since it's a war, we're getting into 10-20 good team scrums a game. There's no real reason to pursue grief wars 4,5,6 hours after the fact. The rules are different for the A-listers from each team. We'll keep beating the snot out of each other until this is through. What I'm concerned with is your not-a-listers who are just getting involved because it's fun and it's a way to get involved. They don't really need to go to one raid and walk away with 5-6 bounties after they died 5-10 times in the raids and ensuing team fights.
That's probably a question that's better directed at Jeremy in-game. Just send him a message with your concerns, or if it's something lengthy, send him an e-mail at jeremy@imperian.com.
That way he can review it, discuss it with us if he feels the need to, and then decide if it's something he should make another "guidelines" post about. I don't think he likes to make many posts like that, though, because he wants people to just play the game and have fun with each other.
So when considering whether or not to go crazy with bounties, just be reasonable. We love to see people getting involved and going out and fighting each other. That's awesome. Consider filing your bounties with the intent to keep the conflict fresh and exciting. Don't think about filing bounties just to get one person killed over and over again.
Antioch is filing bounties against anybody who graveyard zerged, commensurate with how much they did according to logs. Kinsarmar did it and we didn't complain. Killing people who participate is a great way to make the less tenacious in your night of the walking dead corpse crowd stop participating.. which is the goal. They are actively involved in the conflict now, which makes them fair game. I log in and get attacked without actively participating in defense, but I am a known defender. Within reason, the opposite should be true - a known offender should be hunted for a period of time.
Yes, I just said that. Yes, I mean it.

Oh, also: you die during the first scenario and still get bountied too. The only difference (which is the real justification here!) is that they repeatedly take action - which means they should repeatedly take consequences. I see zero issue.

That's mostly reasonable, as long as you remember that the rules explicitly prohibit bounties after 3 days. No matter how many guards someone kills, no matter how many times you bounty them or don't, you are forbidden from adding additional bounties after three days.
The posturing was cute, but that's not how the bounties have been handed out. AM just isn't trust worthy these days.
The situation we're actually seeing is that people are dying while raiding, dying after raiding, and dying two to three days after raiding for raiding with the reason being cited as raiding. The point I'm getting as it that you're not filing bounties and your bounty record keeping sucks. You can't refresh a bounty reason with the same reason that was just used. I can't trust you to give an honest answer to why you raid cities, terms of surrender, or recounting of an event. How can I be expected to trust your judgement on assigning pk reasons which will only be collected on the <100 population? According to Kryss, Katalina raided. We all know Kat is a non-comm, so...
Actually, according to Kryss, Katalina took the body of Velion which is a combat-based action. But you just keep on imagining things, one day they might just even come true.
Okay, so, having been bountied for the third time in 24 hours for a raid, I would like to say that this whole situation has been totally absurd. I haven't complained at all when people have gone after Bathan when he's not bountied because, let's be honest, he's been in the thick of it. The constant bountying though, all for the same reason, is just silly.
Okay, also this:
Sarrius > Under the orders of the Ruling Council, the following men and women are labeled criminals against the Free Protectorate:
Bathan, Iluv, Iniar, Ishtar, Maglust, Juran, Ahkan, Aydamis, Khizan. This status calls for a constant, running price on their heads for the next seven months at the minimum.
That seems to pretty much not work with these guidelines:
Organizational bounties are NEVER to be used for personal vendettas. Bounties must be filed within 3 Aetherian months of the offense. The only acceptable reasons for bountying are actions that directly harm the bountying organization. Bounties against defenders in raids or obelisk battles will not be supported. No bounties regarding shards will be supported. The filer of the
bounty is ultimately the person responsible in the case of an abusive bounty.
‘Least I won’t have to carry it no more. You see how bloody heavy it is?’
‘Every sword’s a weight to carry. Men don’t see that when they pick ’em up. But they get heavier with time.”
I would not define raiding the city as a 'personal vendetta'. As for the 'seven days' thing, you likely couldn't find it in the spam, but I later woke up and had a chat with Juran - who conveniently reminded me seven is too long a number, so I appended it to 'three months' instead. I only file bounties from moment to moment, not 'hey I was last online a week ago'. The only person I've ever ordered a perma-bounty for before this was, ironically, Kryss - who admittedly gave me a reason to do it over and over because she would come knocking on the door for trouble not an hour after a rebounty.
EDIT: Anybody on this list knew what they were getting in to when it began. Is carpetbombing every offender with 3 days of bounties overkill? Maybe, but you had just spent several hours inside our city graveyard rushing guards. That doesn't merit 'one death later'. You are now personally involved in the war. You are going to get ganked even without a bounty. I also only put people on the list who I SAW there, so people like Katalina weren't my doing if they were bountied.

You're really just feeding the escalation fire with bad logic. We've already all agreed that death is meaningless. People are corpse raiding because you're overzealous dongs. You're responding to it by being an overzealous dong. This is going to come around again and "They're going to spam kill us for crappy reasons, may as well cost them another 4 million." You really can't argue with their reasoning with how you're acting.
At the end of the day, there's a ton of dying going down. Most of us are dying 5-10 times a day. I'm not really sure what else you want out of this? You're getting all the pk that your little heart can stand. Why do you have to fabricate a really vague and terrible reason to kill someone? Example: Aydamis has died 47 times since December 12th in pk alone. We stopped bountying in Demonic because we're netting about 20 kills on a slow day. We're considering everything in the black. The higher tier kids aren't going to stop killing the higher tier kids. (Iluv, Kryss, Menoch, Septus, Ahkan, Eldreth, Juran, Iniar (hey bb), Khizan, Bathan, Sarrius, Shou, Cordilia, Maglust). The people who are getting screwed here are the Demonic mid tier kids, because they're getting visits from the derp fairy. I know Demonic is making a conscious effort not to visit B-listers from AM. It'd be nice for a little two way street action.
I mean sure, you can cling to THIS IS MY ARGHEE AND I'M STICKING TO IT. The problem is your rp sucks and it's a shitty thing to do people. We're all fighting all the time now. Why make it stupid and give unnamed bads a clean slate to grief afk people just waiting for text santa.
Last sentence, I said people, not pkers. Pkers aren't people.
The thing is, people like Ishtar weren't really involved. Sure, they made a few runs, but that was it. All the big kids were doing it, so they wanted to jump in too. Once they realized that our brilliant plan was to suffocate your guards to death underneath a mountain of our own corpses, they basically cut out and left.
Unleashing the grieftrain on them for it is pretty much a **** move and not a very good thing for the game, which, sadly, is par for the course with AM.
So I just killed Kliko and he pinata'd like 106 locusts. I took them to Okabarish and tried to bulk sell...does this dude not bulk sell? I ended up spamming give locust to man 106 times.

Etchable. Typically makes more damaging items.
Veritum: 1 Stehl. Created by Templars using Lustration in Devotion.
Blessable. Typically makes more accurate items.
Bone: 1 Corpse. Evoked from corpses by Deathknights using Necromancy.
Bind/Quenchable. Typically makes faster items.
Is the accurate/faster/more damaging a thing? I've never heard of it before and it sounds like shenanigans.
